Monsters in the Sky

yes its true

I swear its true

I know why the sky,

that's so very blue!

turns black at night,

with an evil hue!

It's the million monsters,

flying high in the air,

with scary faces,

and dark, flowing hair!

the twinkling stars

are their glowing eyes,

peering down,

from the high skies!

thru the night they fly!

scaring the birds,

making them cry!

yes its true

tell your sister,

tell your brother,

more so,

in the month of October,

to be clever,

and never ever!

without a light

to go out,

in the night!

and by your mother's side

you better stay!

else a monster may,

on a scary ride,

take you away!

and its’ million friends,

in the sky,

will join the flight,

to multiply,

your monster fright!

I will leave you now,

with an idea that’s bright

on a chilly October night,

just read a book,

and sleep tight,

and I promise,

you’ll be alright!
